What LOVE Does

IMG_9182

God’s Love is like a diamond, with many facets, and Love is reciprocal (back and forth). Read John 4:8 Anyone who does not love (agapao) does not know God, because God is love (agape).

Love (agapaó) – From Us
Take pleasure in, to prefer, to obey (our actions)
actively doing what the Lord prefers

Love (agape’) – From God
God’s Disposition (who He is and What He prefers).
Love which centers in God’s moral preference.
Morality has to do with what God says is right and wrong.
Preference has to do with our choosing to do what God says over what we want.

Love is seeing things God’s way and doing what He says.

Things love does:
Gives (John 3:16)
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten  Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
Sacrifices (Rom. 12:1)
Therefore I urge you, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies [dedicating all of yourselves, set apart] as a living sacrifice, holy and well-pleasing to God, which is your rational (logical, intelligent) act of worship.
Honors (1 Cor. 6:20)
You were bought with a price [you were actually purchased with the precious blood of Jesus and made His own]. So then, honor and glorify God with your body.

But you can’t do this in your own strength, and God never asked you to…. But He does give us boundaries

As parents we set guidelines to keep our children safe, we ask them to follow the rules set for our family and with that comes reward, but if we get out of those boundaries there will be consequences, right? Well God is no different, it’s actually where we learned this from…
John 14:15 “If you [really] love Me, you will keep and obey My commandments.

Yes this scripture is talking about the “10 commandments” but also His Word….how do I know? Because the scriptures reference other scriptures to verify it. Cross References here.

John 14:12-21
I tell you the truth. He who believes in me will do the same things that I do. He will do even greater things than these because I am going to the Father.  And if you ask for anything in my name, I will do it for you. Then the Father’s glory will be shown through the Son.  If you ask me for anything in my name, I will do it.

The Promise of the Holy Spirit….HE IS SENDING HELP!!!
“If you love me, you will do the things I command.  I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Helper. He will give you this Helper to be with you forever. 1The Helper is the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him because it does not see him or know him. But you know him. He lives with you and he will be in you.

“I will not leave you all alone like orphans. I will come back to you.  In a little while the world will not see me anymore, but you will see me. Because I live, you will live, too.  On that day you will know that I am in my Father. You will know that you are in me and I am in you. He who knows my commands and obeys them is the one who loves me. And my Father will love him who loves me. I will love him and will show myself to him.”

Footnotes: 14:16 Helper “Counselor,” or “Comforter.” Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit.

Our willingness to obey produces God’s Glory
Obedience opens the door to everything else He has for us!!!
REMEMBER THIS: Power is inside you…YOU ARE IN CONTROL OF THAT POWER!!! The Holy Spirit in you will HELP you!

Deep Roots Ministries International, Inc.

What does Deep Roots Ministries do? We encourage believers to grow spiritually in Christ by discipleship. Continuing the works Jesus did. How do we do that? We study God’s Word to develop a Biblical worldview. Scriptures identify God’s plan for our lives. God’s will to us is revealed in His Word. Together we spend time reading the Bible and studying the Truths of the Word of God. Where do you do this? In our home and others homes with family and friends (small groups), teaching videos, and meetings. Where we are invited to share. Colossians 2:6-7 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
