“MY GOD”

1 Samuel 30:6

And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God

THOUGHTS

  • Concerning King David, It is not by accident that we read The Lord “HIS”GOD! The very essence and nerve of what strengthened David, at that supreme moment of desolation, was the conviction that welled up in his heart that, in spite of it all, he had a grip of God’s hand as his very own, and God had hold of him.
  • The darkest moment of David’s life was the moment at which the darkness broke! It’s what he did “In The Darkness” that made the difference!!! We are always looking for a way of rescue from without, someone to come bust open the prison door, someone to throw down the rope into our pit, something to change on the outside (The place we live, our career, our relationships, society, economy, leaders) but God shows us time and time again that true rescue, true change, true freedom is something that comes from a deep intimate personal knowing of Him and His Truth. For whom the Son has set free is free indeed!!! Therein lies your rescue! But do we believe it?
  • Until the Lord becomes “YOUR” GOD He will always be the God of someone else that you recognize. God does not just want you to recognize Him as God and read about things He has done for others, but He wants a real relationship with you that’s intimate, serious, and personal! He wants to become “YOUR GOD!!!”

John 20:27-28

Then Jesus said to Thomas, “Put your finger here and look at My hands. Reach out your hand and put it into My side. Stop doubting and believe.” Thomas replied, “My Lord and MY God!”

THOUGHTS

  • The story of Thomas is a great example of someone who believed that God was real but never really grasped Him as His God until after the resurrection. He had to see Him face to face, & Touch Him himself to believe. There are so many Christians like this. God is God for others, but they doubt His reality for themselves. I mean, who are we that He would actually care about me, actually answer my prayers, actually use me to do something for Him? The truth is He is waiting us on, just like he waited on Thomas, to reveal His intimate self to us personally. It us us that keep Him at a distance with our doubt and disobedience.if we would only seek Him, trust Him, and cry out to Him as Abba, Daddy, then we would see Him, sense His love and presence toward us and see our value “In Him!”

Deep Roots Ministries International, Inc.

What does Deep Roots Ministries do? We encourage believers to grow spiritually in Christ by discipleship. Continuing the works Jesus did. How do we do that? We study God’s Word to develop a Biblical worldview. Scriptures identify God’s plan for our lives. God’s will to us is revealed in His Word. Together we spend time reading the Bible and studying the Truths of the Word of God. Where do you do this? In our home and others homes with family and friends (small groups), teaching videos, and meetings. Where we are invited to share. Colossians 2:6-7 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
