How to keep growing

IMG_5421

Just as any athlete needs discipline for advancing, a Christian need to practice spiritual various disciplines in order to become a mature Christian.

Athletes renounce certain things they wish they could do and practice all sorts of restraints, the new born believer seeks to remove anything that hinders his growth.

And in the same way that athletes do exercises that will help them in the domain of their activity, Christians seek to practice what we call “spiritual disciplines” so that they can “be fit” in a spiritual point of view.Spiritual disciplines are the means by which God brings His fullness into our lives. They are not meant only for some “special” categories of Christians, but for everyone of us: ordinary people.

“Don’t you realize that in a race everyone runs, but only one person gets the prize? So run to win! All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize. So I run with purpose in every step. I am not just shadowboxing. I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”

‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭9‬:‭24‬-‭27‬ ‭

Deep Roots Ministries International, Inc.

What does Deep Roots Ministries do? We encourage believers to grow spiritually in Christ by discipleship. Continuing the works Jesus did. How do we do that? We study God’s Word to develop a Biblical worldview. Scriptures identify God’s plan for our lives. God’s will to us is revealed in His Word. Together we spend time reading the Bible and studying the Truths of the Word of God. Where do you do this? In our home and others homes with family and friends (small groups), teaching videos, and meetings. Where we are invited to share. Colossians 2:6-7 And now, just as you accepted Christ Jesus as your Lord, you must continue to follow him. 7 Let your roots grow down into him, and let your lives be built on him. Then your faith will grow strong in the truth you were taught, and you will overflow with thankfulness.
